Roseanne is Back and so is the Reality of Working Class Hardships

The TV series Roseanne comes back to the airways after a ten year hiatus.

Though the series focused on the humor that can be found in the everyday life of a lower to middle class family, there was a more serious message that was always present.  This family lived paycheck to paycheck and when one spouse was out of work, the whole family teetered on financial ruin.  There were constant financial problems that existed in the Connor household, which was made worse when Dan was injured at work.

Despite their problems, the show would always end with some humorous line and all troubles would be forgotten.  However, this is not how real life works.  Today, we have many families who are living paycheck to paycheck and when one spouse is injured at work, there can be financial devastation for the family that a humorous line cannot fix.

When you are injured at work, you need to make sure that you receive all benefits that you are entitled to receive under the law.  You need attorneys who will ensure that you are paid while you are off of work so that your family does not suffer financially.

If you have been injured in a work related injury, please contact the attorneys at Dennis Seaman & Associates to discuss your workers’ compensation claim. Call (216) 696-1080.

Three Mile Island Disaster 39 Years ago, Impacts us Today

Thirty nine years ago on March 28, 1979, one of the nuclear reactors at Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, near Harrisburg overheated and came within 1,000 degrees of a full meltdown.  This could have been the greatest nuclear tragedy in US history.

Even though there was no meltdown, there was a radiation leak which was discovered shortly after the reactor was shut down.  Though, thankfully, the exposure was limited and the workers did not sustain any long term damage, they were still exposed to toxic radiation.

Many workers do not realize that if they are exposed to a chemical at work which causes some sort of reaction to their skin or eyes, they may be eligible to file a claim under Ohio workers’ compensation for medical benefits.  Some exposures may be so severe that you may be out of work for many months.

Call the attorneys at Dennis Seaman & Associates to discuss your chemical exposure claim. (216) 696-1080.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Today and throughout this weekend the baseball season starts as the boys of summer are back!

This year the Cleveland Indians and many baseball teams have tried to make safety of the fans more of a priority.  One of the changes at Progressive Field will be an extension of the safety netting.  The net will extend from Section 164 down the third base line to Section 140 down the first base line.  This will minimize the potential injuries from foul balls and bats that end up in the seats.

Of course no matter how many safety measures are in place, accidents still happen especially in the workplace.  If you are injured at work, call the worker’s compensation experts at Dennis Seaman & Associates to discuss your claim (216)696-1080.

Clear Backpacks the Wave of the Future for Students

Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas are returning to school after the tragic school shooting, but now with even more safety measures in place.  One in particular is that they will be required to carry only clear backpacks, as those will be the only ones permitted on campus.  Safety is now more of a concern to students than fashion, as they have readily adopted these measures.

In life you try to be as safe as possible especially on the job, but sometimes accidents do occur, and as a result you get injured.

If you are injured as result of a work place accident, call the attorneys at Dennis Seaman & Associates at (216) 696-1080 to discuss your claim.

Ohio Lawmakers want to increase minimum driving age to 16 ½

Ohio's newest drivers account for its highest percentage of accidents, so the state's representatives are debating a bill to withhold their driver's licenses for a longer period of time.

Lawmakers plan to increase the minimum age at which young motorists can apply for a driver’s license.  This legislation would increase the age for first time drivers to obtain their license from 16 to 16 ½ .  In addition, first time drivers would have to have their temporary instruction permit for 12 months, up from the previous 6 months.

Driverless Cars

Driverless vehicles are becoming the future for transportation on our roads.

Tragically one of those cars Uber was testing recently struck and killed a pedestrian in Phoenix, Arizona.  As a result, Uber has halted its driverless cars which are being tested in San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Toronto, and the Phoenix area.  Until these problems are corrected we will still rely on humans at the wheel.

The one benefit of driverless cars was the human element was removed from the decision making process of driving.

Sometimes when people drive, they make bad decisions which can lead to tragic results.  If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident contact the attorneys at Dennis Seaman & Associates at (216) 696-1080to discuss your potential claim.

Frozen Embryos

It has been just over a week and the realization that 2000 frozen embryos may not be viable is still sinking in to many women and prospective parents.

What happened at University Hospital is a tragedy one that has forever dramatically changed the future plans of many.

If you or loved one had a frozen embryo which was stored at University Hospital and was compromised you may be entitled to compensation.

Spring Has Sprung!

We have reached the Spring Equinox which means that Spring is here, though the snow on the ground may have you believing otherwise.

A change in the weather means a change in road conditions.  A change in those road conditions can lead to more motor vehicle accidents.

If you are injured in a motor vehicle accident, contact the attorneys at Dennis Seaman & Associates to discuss your claim with an experienced attorney.
